The property lacks the intent for improvisation. Our travel agent requested for 5 Deluxe Rooms. The property replied by confirming 5 'Plantation View' rooms for us. Little does anyone know that the so called Plantation View rooms are actually standard rooms, a category inferior to the Deluxe Rooms. But the property is overall a substandard place. The access is steep, the rooms lack the basic facilities of clean water, clean lavatory and hot water. Though the only thing good about the property is the tea served there.

A defining feature of this hotel is the sound of dripping water rushing through Kallar waterfalls downwards; the hotel is right below the waterfalls. I stayed in July 2022 and the experience was just awesome. Sounds of cicadas and birds add to the aura; I felt as if I am living inside a million-year-old rainforest (in fact shola rainforests are at least 150 million years old, much older than the entire Himalayas). The rooms were damp. Approach road had a gradient I have never seen anywhere (around 40 degrees, I suggest leaving your vehicle beside the main road, which is hardly 50 meters away. I didn't care about the luxury; the purpose of my trip is a sojourn amidst nature. Camping would have been just fine, so whatever management provided was beyond my already low expectations. I stayed here for a week and would love to come back. Highly recommended!
